Challenges- The Impossible and the Possible
Fitness challenges are supposed to be fun and are there to help you get over that slump that you might be feeling with your normal workout routine.
I decided this week that I was going to try a 30 day, 100 Squat Challenge. Why? Honestly, because I am terrible at push up! My friend, Leslie, asked me to at the beginning of the month to do a similar challenge, but with push-ups. She even showed me the results that a few people had in completing the challenge. The results were actually pretty amazing. If you don’t believe me, check them out here: Buzz Feed.
I lasted all of three days. My arms hurt, and somehow my entire body ached. The challenge was not for me. Even though I failed at this challenge, I did want to push myself with a challenge…just a slightly less painful one.
The Squat Challenge
My legs are stronger than my arms, so I already know that this challenge will work better for me! It is pretty simple- just 30 days of 100 squats. The best part is, you don’t have to do all the squats at once. I’m planning on doing the squats in the morning, and at night.
Make sure to go low with the squats, and to watch your knees! I’ve seen so many people at the gym doing squats wrong, and I always get so nervous for them. I like to pretend that I am sitting in a chair when I am doing squats. The butt goes back, and the knees stay straight and do not bend forward. 🙂
Make sure to have someone do this challenge with you so that you stay accountable! At the very least, talk about it with other people, because you might inspire them to get out of their workout rut! 🙂 Good luck! 😉
